Guide Trip on Leelanau - Oct. 24-25
Fished with my friends Art and Pat and they did phenomenal. These guys are 80 years old and real troopers! The perch bite has been awesome. We caught a lot of perch on crankbaits and slip bobbers in 6-10fow. Walleyes also cooperated for us. The first day we ended up with only 6 legals, but the second day we caught a three man limit. Biggest fish was 19.5". Fish were caught between 6-14fow jigging and crankbaiting.

Lake Leelanau - July 31-August 7
My friend Joe fished Leelanau the week of July 31-August 7. Had an up and down week. The up was fishing jerk baits. If the wind was blowing, the fish were biting. Best bite was late: 7-9:30pm. Fished mostly the northern half of the South Lake Leelanau. Jig bite was a little on the tough side. Did manage some legals jigging, but caught a lot of undersized fish with plastic.

A friend fished Houghton Thursday 7/22 - Sunday 7/25. Bite was really interesting. Focused on jigging edges with plastics for walleyes. Caught lots of largemouth, crappies...walleye bite was tentative. Caught fish but had to finesse them a bit. Lots of short bits. Best bite was on worm style plastics jigged with a lead head colored 1/8 oz. jig.
